As part of Period Living’s 30th birthday celebrations, George Barnsdale is giving a new timber entrance door to the lucky winner of one of the magazine’s competitions. The prize is a bespoke timber entrance doorset made to the sizes provided by the winner and painted in a choice of colours or stains with hardware and glazing up to the value of £2000 including delivery and excluding maintenance.

George Barnsdale’s doors are all tested and conform to the standards set out in Part Q building regulations, Secured by Design and PAS 24. Incorporating multi-point locking systems and high thermal and acoustic properties, they are among the very best doors available. The four stage paint process ensures that the door will last up to 70 years with basic maintenance and won’t require re-coating for at least ten years for paint and seven years for stain. Made in Britain at the company’s Lincolnshire site, the winner will be able to visit the factory to see how their door will be made once coronavirus and social distancing allows.

Period Living is a magazine aimed at discerning home owners that appreciate period properties and the Historic range is ideal for these types of homes. Offering a wide choice of designs that replicate originals, George Barnsdale’s historic doors can be found in the strictest of conservation areas. Slim double glazing, single or even hand drawn glazing, colour matching and a choice of beading and hardware help the homeowner achieve a period look with modern performance and functionality.

To enter the competition, pick up a copy of Period Living when you do your weekly shop (please don’t forget the social distancing rules) or look online for further details. Nothing to lose and a beautiful door to potentially gain!
