As part of their commitment to continuous improvement and staff development, George Barnsdale is delighted to announce that it has secured funding from CITB’s skills and training fund to further its drive for efficiency and productivity.

The funding will be used for two courses: “A culture of achieving quality” and “LEAN Construction”, both delivered by Egan Consulting Ltd. Peter has worked with George Barnsdale on similar projects in the past and knows our business well.

Specifically, the training aims to focus on work needed to drive productivity and efficiency improvements and provides a range of tools and techniques to achieve that objective. There will also be a focus on the identification and elimination of waste.

Commenting on his experience with similar programmes over the last couple of years, Darren Templeman, Production Director said: “Training has helped me to focus on being able to step back from the day to day running of the factory to review our processes, set clear objectives and put the infrastructure in place to deliver. We are already seeing significant improvements in efficiency and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to the drive towards LEAN processes.”
