Modern Contemporary Timber Doors | George Barnsdale

Make a bold statement with a contemporary door

Timber contemporary doors are perfect for new builds and modernised properties or for those looking to make a statement in their home. Being a highly engineered product with superior levels of performance and quality, we are confident that our designs will leave a lasting first impression.

These doors derive their air of quality from their sleek design, weight, fit and feel when opening and closing. Within the door panel we incorporate a flat steel stabiliser to help provide optimum strength, stability and insulation. As standard, all contemporary door designs meet the exacting standards of PAS 24 / Part Q with security laminated glass, multi-point locking and cylinder locks that meet the TS 007 3 star British Kitemark.

To complement our door designs we have created a number of contemporary paint and stain finishes. With the option dual colour there is opportunity for the exterior to be a statement colour and the interior to match the internal furnishing.

Contemporary Doors: Frequently Asked Questions

Definitely. Contemporary timber doors offer a nice blend of traditional materials and modern design elements. They are ideal for modern homes, extensions, and urban properties, providing a stylish entrance while still maintaining character.

We offer a range of finishes and colours, from natural wood stains that highlight the timber grain to bold, modern hues that stand out. All finishes are applied using high-performance coatings for added durability and weather resistance.

Contemporary timber doors focus on modern design principles, such as clean lines, minimalistic detailing, and larger glazed sections. Unlike traditional timber doors, which often feature decorative panels and ornate features, modern timber doors offer a streamlined aesthetic, ideal for contemporary architecture.

Yes, incorporating glazing is a popular choice for modern timber doors. We offer a variety of glazing options, from full-length glass panels to smaller, strategically placed windows that increase natural light while maintaining privacy. You can also select from frosted, tinted, or decorative glass styles.

All of our contemporary timber doors are treated with industry-leading coatings that provide strong protection against UV rays, moisture, and general wear. While these finishes reduce maintenance needs, we recommend periodic checks and simple upkeep to extend the door’s lifespan.
